Terri Metcalfe – Biog
Proud Cumbrian, and Acceleration TV & Video’s artistic director, Terri always dreamed of becoming a rally driver, and after spiking David’s tea with enough arsenic, one day she might just get there, but for now, she’s happy to co-drive for him.
A self-confessed career phobic, Terri was always content to tackle whatever employment the local newspaper’s jobs section might come up with, ambling along and not really making any great effort to get into the rat race, but she has to admit that rallying for a living is a lot more enticing a career choice than bar maid and struggling poet.
Terri’s life long ambition was to be the female Dylan Thomas; the drunken, whirlwind lifestyle, living in a ramshackle old hut and writing nonsense all day for which people would pay her handsomely, appealing greatly. Or failing that, the Lake District’s answer to Pam Ayers would do. It will come as a surprise to Terri’s school games teachers that she is now officially a sportswoman, and not a librarian.
After a little coaching, Terri finally found herself on the career ladder, and these days, although many assume that she is only around to smile politely and make sure David doesn’t say anything too outrageous, she is in fact responsible for the assembly of many of ATV’s major productions; from the initial filming, to the final edit, and she is most proud of her contribution to the making of the company’s excellent 2004 London to Sydney Marathon. Since then, she has been solely in command of the production of the 2004 Revival Rally, the 2005 World Cup London to Dakar Rally, and the 2005 La Carrera Mediterrana. Many believe that David does everything, when in actual fact, he very often merely speaks the words that Terri has written.
Terri’s other interests are golf, poetry, music, learning to play the drums and food. One day she would like to grow a vegetable garden.
